Frisco, TX Dallas Stars center Brad Richards will not be in the lineup for all three contests on the club's upcoming Western Canada trip.

Though the Dallas Morning News reported earlier in the day that Richards was expected to miss the Stars' game in Edmonton on Tuesday, the club officially stated later that he will not accompany the team on the trip at all.

Richards suffered an undisclosed injury on a hit in the neutral zone late in the game on Sunday against Columbus.

"Brad will not be coming on the trip with us. He suffered an injury last night on the last shift of the game. He's not feeling 100 percent today," said Stars head coach Marc Crawford. "Brad would like to join us, but we think it's the best measure for him to stay behind and get him back to 100 percent. We're going to be cautious with him."

The 30-year-old former 1998 third-round pick of the Lightning currently ranks sixth in the league with 63 points (24 goals, 39 assists) in 56 games this season.
