The Columbus Blue Jackets received some good news a day after centre Artem Anisimov took a blow to the head in a game against the Red Wings in Detroit on Thursday.

Anisimov, taken out of Joe Louis Arena on a stretcher, was released from hospital on Friday.

"Thank you for all your prayers," Anisimov tweeted to his followers after returning to Columbus.

Early in the second period, Anisimov tripped over Detroit's Ian White and fell to the ice. As he was falling, Detroit's Kyle Quincey also fell to the ice and his elbow came down on the head of Anisimov.

After several minutes on the ice, his head and neck were immobilized and he was taken into the locker room on a stretcher and later to Detroit Medical Center for further evaluation.

In 15 games this season, Anisimov has four goals and two assists.
