Senators send Foligno packing
By BRUCE GARRIOCH, QMI Agency

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators have brought home Marc Methot.

While all eyes were on free agency, Senators GM Bryan Murray has dealt winger Nick Foligno to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for defenceman Marc Methot.

The Senators were trying to rebuild their defence ranks after losing Filip Kuba (Florida) and Matt Carkner (Islanders) in free agency.

Methot is an Ottawa native.

Foligno, a first-round pick in 2006, just hasn't turned into the top-six forward the club expected. Methot will be a steadying influence on the blueline for the Senators.

More later.
