CHICAGO - It was a miserable night for the Chicago Blackhawks Sunday.

They were down 4-0 12 minutes into their game against the Edmonton Oilers and looking emotionally spent after having their 24-game streak with at least a point broken in the previous game.

But when they needed a spark, they got it from dynamic winger Patrick Kane, who, in the opinion of many around the team, has been the 'Hawks' best player through the first half of the season.

That's saying something on a team that boasts the quiet intensity of captain Jonathan Toews and the 200-foot dominance of winger Marian Hossa, who year in and year out is one of the NHL's best two-way players.

Kane was the guy who got them going.
