Chicago - Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville was released from the hospital on Saturday after being treated for gastrointestinal bleeding.

"Joel was released from the hospital today and is resting comfortably at home. We will continue to monitor him and still anticipate a full recovery. We are working to determine when it is best for him to return to his coaching duties," team physician Dr. Michael Terry in a statement.

The 52-year-old Quenneville was originally admitted to the hospital early Wednesday morning due to gastrointestinal bleeding, which was determined to be a small ulcer caused by aspirin.

Quenneville has missed the team's last two games. The Blackhawks play at home against the Penguins on Sunday.
