Chicago - Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane is likely to return to action on Tuesday.
Kane has missed almost three weeks with an ankle injury, suffered against the Calgary Flames on December 5 when he fell awkwardly against the boards. He was hurt during his first shift and missed the remainder of the contest.
He was placed on injured reserve last week, but since the move was retroactive to the day of the original injury, Kane is now eligible to come off IR at any time.
The dynamic 22-year-old pronounced himself ready to test out his balky left ankle after a Monday practice, and Chicago head coach Joel Quenneville backed that up with a positive assessment of his ice time. The 'Hawks travel to St. Louis to take on the Blues Tuesday.
A native of Buffalo, Kane posted 11 goals and 16 assists in 28 games before the setback.
