Chicago - The Chicago Blackhawks have activated forward Marian Hossa from injured reserve and placed forward Patrick Kane on injured reserve.
Hossa was sidelined by a lower-body injury that he suffered during a November 29 practice in a collision with teammate Nick Boynton.
The 31-year-old Hossa has collected eight goals and 10 assists in 21 games so far this season. He also missed seven games from late October through early November with an upper-body ailment.
Kane has not played since December 5 due to a lower-body injury. The 22-year- old has registered 11 goals and 27 points in 28 games this year.
The Blackhawks also recalled goaltender Hannu Toivonen from Rockford (AHL), where he was 5-5-3 with a 3.12 goals-against average in 16 appearances.
