CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa was placed on injured reserve Wednesday as he continues to recover from a lower body injury.

Hossa was hurt during a November 29 practice when he collided with teammate Nick Boynton. The star winger had to be helped off the ice and the team said he would likely miss 2-to-3 weeks because of the injury.

The Blackhawks, who also lost Patrick Kane earlier this week to a lower body injury that will keep him out of action for about three weeks, recalled forwards Jeremy Morin and Rob Klinkhammer from their AHL affiliate in Rockford.

Hossa is sidelined for the second time this season. He also missed seven games from late October through early November with an upper body ailment.

Over 21 games this season, he has eight goals and 10 assists.
