CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa will miss the next 2-to-3 weeks with a lower body injury, the team announced on Tuesday.

The injury occurred when Hossa and teammate Nick Boynton collided on the ice during Monday's practice session. Hossa had to be helped off the ice while Boynton was able to finish practice.

Hossa had missed seven games from late October through early November with an upper body injury.

"Since he came back from when he was injured (earlier), he was progressing -- he was coming off a great game in Los Angeles, played a lot of minutes, played him on a couple lines," said Chicago head coach Joel Quenneville. "He's useful in so many different areas -- power play, penalty kill. Obviously, there's a void there."

Over 21 games this season, he has eight goals and 10 assists.
