CHICAGO - The Chicago Blackhawks claimed Andrew Ebbett of Vernon, B.C., off waivers from the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday.

The 26-year-old centre was held scoreless in two regular season games with Anaheim.

Ebbett made an impression on the Ducks in his rookie season, scoring eight goals and adding 24 assists in 48 games as well as a goal and two assists in 13 post-season games.

Ebbett was on the outside looking in after the Ducks' off-season signing of Saku Koivu gave Anaheim an abundance of veteran centres.
