RALEIGH, N.C. - The Carolina Hurricanes activated Eric Staal from injured reserve Wednesday after the star centre missed 10 games with an upper-body injury.

Staal had been sidelined since the injury forced him from the team's game Nov. 1 against San Jose. He had played in 349 consecutive games, the third-longest among active NHL skaters, before he was forced to sit.

The 25-year-old scored three goals with two assists in Carolina's first 13 games. He has 167 goals and 196 assists in 422 career games.

The Hurricanes are at Anaheim on Wednesday night.

If Ryan Getzlaf cannot play in the Olympics due to injury, which player should replace him on Team Canada's roster?
  Steven Stamkos
  Brad Richards
  Jeff Carter
  Someone else
