Now that the Stanley Cup parade is in the history books — complete with Los Angeles Kings head coach Darryl Sutter giving the fans the shirt off his back — the NHL action shifts to off the ice.

It seems like a lifetime ago since the Calgary Flames were cleaning out their dressing room at season’s end, but the NHL off-season lull, with the arrival of GM Brad Treliving the biggest news of note in the interim, is about to end.

The next three weeks will be filled with all kinds of twists and turns for the Flames and their faithful to follow.

First up is the much anticipated NHL Draft on June 27 and 28 in Philadelphia, where the Flames, provided they don’t trade away their first-round pick, will nab their highest selection since the franchise moved to the Stampede City.
