CALGARY - Hard to believe, it's been just over two months since the Calgary Flames set a franchise record — and not a good one — with seven consecutive losses on home ice.

That seems like ancient history now.

With Monday's 2-1 shootout victory over the San Jose Sharks, the Flames officially hit the .500 mark with a 17-17-3 record on home ice.

The way they got there — with a hard-fought win over one of the NHL's top teams — was even more impressive.

Flames left-winger Michael Cammalleri had the lone goal in the shootout, while first-star Karri Ramo stopped Patrick Marleau, Joe Pavelski and James Sheppard at the other end.
