If Johnny Gaudreau is ready to turn pro after this season, and the Calgary Flames certainly hope that’s his timeline, then there’s little doubt the Boston College University Eagles standout has left his mark on the NCAA hockey ranks.

With two goals and a pair of assists in Saturday’s 4-2 playoff victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Gaudreau extended his personal point-streak to 31 games and etched his name in the Hockey East conference record books.

Paul Kariya, who turned out to be a darn good NHLer, hit the scoresheet in 31 consecutive skates for the University of Maine Black Bears in 1992-93.

Since the Eagles and the Fighting Irish are all-square in their best-of-three Hockey East quarterfinal series, the 20-year-old Gaudreau can have the record all to himself if he finds the back of the net or collects an assist in Sunday’s Game 3 in Beantown.
