NASHVILLE - The Calgary Flames survived one sub-par period.

They couldn't do it twice against the Nashville Predators.

A three-goal outburst by the host Predators in the final frame once again has the Flames singing a hurtin' tune in Music City, U.S.A.

Ryan Ellis broke a 1-1 deadlock less than a minute into the third period, and then Craig Smith and Viktor Stalberg extended the lead to pace the Preds to a 4-2 victory over the Flames Tuesday in Tennessee.

Mikael Backlund scored moments after Stalberg's tally to give the Flames a glimpse of hope, but that's as close as they could come at the Bridgestone Arena.
