CALGARY - Before the curtain lifted on the season, the goaltending situation was among the biggest questions for the Calgary Flames.

It wasn’t just the fans and media pondering, either.

Coaches and players were all curious.

We’re not quite three months into the campaign so nobody can fully say whether Reto Berra or Karri Ramo is the answer to replacing the now-retired Miikka Kiprusoff as the Flames No.-1 on a long-term basis, however, over the past stretch, both netminders have taken positive steps to alleviating concerns goaltending would be the team’s Achilles heel.

“Definitely, they’re a very positive story for us,” head coach Bob Hartley said after Saturday’s practice at the Saddledome.

"We have two guys that can win some games for us and whenever we call their number, they're ready. It's a nice problem for us to have. Both guys want to play, there's only one net, but right now, we're playing the guy that gives us a chance to win and the good part is both guys are giving us a chance to win."
