CALGARY - Mikael Backlund’s reaction could have been from the shock of seeing his fluttering shot go in.

A Bobby Hull howitzer it wasn’t.

Or, Backlund’s look of surprise could have stemmed from the fact any shot of his light the lamp.

Eighteen games without a goal can weigh on the mind.

Either way, stuttered celebration and all, Backlund was elated to finally hit the scoresheet for the first time in more than six weeks and so were his Calgary Flames teammates when he broke open the tie game early in the second period to spark them to a 4-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes Wednesday night at the Saddledome.
