CALGARY - As a general rule, Calgary Flames netminder Reto Berra tries to keep his eyes off the big screen at the Saddledome.

After Wednesday’s on-his-back, pads-up, gotta-see-it-to-believe-it robbery of Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Jack Johnson, the 26-year-old puck-stopper made an exception.

“Actually, after that, I had a little look,” Berra admitted. “But something else was on, so I had to keep focused.”

Berra had to wait until after Wednesday’s 2-1 NHL overtime loss to the Blue Jackets to finally see a replay of the acrobatic stop that has the hockey world buzzing.

And the buzz is on not just here in puck-crazed Canada.

Back home in Switzerland, Berra’s mind-boggling save has also become big news.
