CALGARY - Now here's a twist ...

As the Calgary Flames' powerplay drought dragged on, it was blamed for back-to-back losses in which they probably deserved a better fate.

Well, the Flames finally scored on the man-advantage — Kris Russell's blast from the blueline ended an 0-for-30 dry-spell — and it was the boost they needed as they stormed back to claim at least one point they didn't deserve in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks at the Saddledome.

Sharks defenceman Brad Stuart scored on a wacky one in overtime, somehow deflecting a shot past netminder Reto Berra, who was stellar while waiting 40 minutes for the rest of his team to wake up and finished with 31 stops.
