Sweet 16.

For the Calgary Flames, one of the feel-good stories so far this season has been the coming of age of centre Joe Colborne, who now has skated in 16 consecutive contests and doubled the amount of NHL experience on his resume but cringes at the suggestion he can call himself a regular at the big-league level.

“I'm not there yet,” Colborne cautioned. “It's not hard to keep that edge. It's not like I've established myself as a veteran, by any means. I just come every day and hope I'm in the lineup and keep trying to be one of the hardest workers out on the ice every day, and hopefully the coaches continue to see that and continue to trust me in a bunch of different situations.”

If not for the NHL's waiver rules, Colborne might have been in Abbotsford this weekend as a member of the minor-league Toronto Marlies.
