CALGARY - What's in a number?

Apparently, not much.

At least Roman Horak is not reading a whole lot into the fact he's wearing No. 21 on the back of his Calgary Flames sweater, having finally traded in the No. 51 he was donning his first two pro seasons.

Horak was called in the off-season by Flames equipment manager Mark DePasquale and asked whether he'd want a different set of digits on his jersey.

Horak, who's skated in 81 NHL games over the last two seasons in which he collected five goals and 18 points, was caught off-guard.

"He gave me a few numbers, and I liked 21," Horak said following Saturday's practice at WinSport's Markin MacPhail Centre. "When my dad played, 21 was one of his numbers, so I changed from 51 to 21."

You'd think not having to wear a number more suited for a football linebacker would be a sign a full-time NHL job is in the cards.
