Bye-bye Babs.

According to reports out of Russia, Calgary Flames defenceman Anton Babchuk will join Savalat Yulaev of the KHL next season.

The Ukrainian blueliner appeared in just seven games for the Flames this winter, making it obvious he wasn't a part of the long-term plans at the Saddledome.

Babchuk, who turned 29 earlier this month, was a KHL all-star in the 2009-10 campaign during a stint with Avangard Omsk.

The 6-foot-5 blueliner with the big shot totalled 10 goals and 38 points in 104 outings with the Flames over a three-season span. His two-year, US$5-million deal with the club officially expires in July.

Of the Flames' soon-to-be free-agents, he's the third guy to reportedly sign a deal overseas. Winger Roman Cervenka will return to the KHL to skate for SKA Saint Petersburg, while goalie Danny Taylor joins Farjestad in Sweden.
