CALGARY - Miikka Kiprusoff didn’t speak to reporters Sunday.

Not that anybody expected him to.

For the flexible netminder, in fact, skipping the season-ending media availability at the Saddledome amounts to an annual tradition.

Surely, some of his teammates would have the scoop on his future with the Calgary Flames, though.

Right?

Wrong.

“We’ve had lots of conversations,” said backup goalie Joey MacDonald. “But it’s just like when he talks to you guys — he doesn’t let no one know what he’s going to do.”

We’ll take your word for it, Joey, but keep us posted.

Having become buddy-buddy with Kiprusoff since arriving in Calgary in mid-February, MacDonald will likely be among the first to know when the Flames’ all-time wins leader finalizes his future plans.

Or not.

“I send him texts,” MacDonald said with a grin. “But he never texts me back half the time.”
