Most of us would call it spring fever.

John Ramage had a different way to describe his feelings early Thursday, sending out a message via Twitter: "Senioritis kicked into full gear today #nomotivation #checkedout"

"No more desire for school," admitted the University of Wisconsin senior when reached on campus.

The perfect cure for those blahs came later in the day with the announcement Ramage, the son of Calgary Flames 1989 Stanley Cup championship team member Rob Ramage and a fourth-round draft choice, had signed a two-year contract with the Flames.

"I had a good year and was excited to see what was going to happen after," said Ramage, who was chosen 103rd overall in the 2010 draft. "I didn't know if the Flames would be interested or not, but the Flames showed interest right away and it was great.

"Things came together pretty quickly, so I'm excited. Calgary is a great place to play. I couldn't ask for a better opportunity."
