CALGARY - And so this is how it ends for Miikka Kiprusoff.

Ten years of exemplary service with the Calgary Flames organization all comes down to one more token start at home Wednesday night. Maybe two if his play merits one last hurrah in Friday's last Dome date of the 2012-13 NHL season.

One or two more chances for the 36-year-old to finish up the most horrid season of his career, and then he'll disappear.

By virtue of his position, a pretty good argument can be made the Finnish netminder has made an even bigger impact on the team's fortunes the last decade than Jarome Iginla.

Certainly without the pair, there wouldn't have been a 2004 march to the Stanley Cup final, a Red Mile and a division title in 2006, and the franchise most certainly wouldn't have the type of cache or waiting list for season tickets all brought on by Kipper's brilliance.

He almost single-handedly returned the Flames to relevancy nine springs ago.
