CALGARY - ABC.

Anybody But Calgary.

It's a phrase that has long served as a slogan of sorts for sports fans in Edmonton and elsewhere in the 780 area code, but for the first time, it might ring true for supporters in southern Alberta, too.

With just over three weeks remaining in the shortened regular season, it's not like Flames fans have nothing left to cheer for.

Calgary's GM Jay Feaster joked after Wednesday's trade deadline that "we've ordered our blue and yellow pom-poms for the rest of the way for St. Louis," a reminder the Flames will own a hat-trick of first-rounders in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft as long as the Blues earn one of eight post-season slots in the NHL's Western Conference.

If that doesn't happen, the Flames will, instead, wait until next summer to select on behalf of the Blues in the opening round and will receive an additional fourth-round pick as a thank-you-for-your-patience gift.
