CALGARY - The Calgary Flames finally appear to be on the right path ...
The losing one.
Finally, something positive Flames fans can get behind.
Capping off a West Coast road trip with a third-consecutive loss last night, the Flames return home the last-place team in the NHL’s Western Conference.
They are now officially incapable of sinking any further.
It’s now impossible for ownership and management to continue the years of denial that have seen them stubbornly refuse to be intellectually honest about where the team stands.
Or is it impossible?
Heading into Monday night’s game in L.A., the Flames had lost nearly one-third (7-of-23) of all their games by three goals or more.
Surely in a league that prides itself on parity, few can suggest the Flames are even remotely close to being contenders for anything more than a top draft pick.
