Ramo could be answer to Flames goalie problems
By ERIC FRANCIS, QMI Agency

Cross another name off the list of players the Flames hoped to see in Calgary this year.

Unless the Calgary Flames make the playoffs, the club will not get a sneak peek at its goalie of the future, Karri Ramo, this season.

Flames GM Jay Feaster was recently informed by Ramo’s agent the 26-year-old Finn is bound to his KHL contract until April 30, which is four days after the Flames regular season is scheduled to end.

Following another solid season, Ramo’s second-ranked Omsk Avangard is up 3-2 on Siberia (backstopped by Calgary’s Jeff Glass) in the first round of the playoffs. However, an early exit wouldn’t expedite his return to the NHL as the Flames had earlier hoped.

The Flames had previously been unsure whether Ramo would be able to join them once his team had been eliminated, once the league had concluded its championship, or on a particular date. Now, they have their answer.

Do you think the officiating has been fair in the Kings-Sharks series?
  Yes
  No
No ... but the refs seem to be evening it out themselves
