Flames' Matt Stajan collapses after elbow to face
By QMI Agency

It was a hit that would make anyone utter, “He’ll be feeling that in the morning”.

During the Calgary Flames’ Tuesday night tilt on the road against the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul, Minn., Flames centre Matt Stajan was clocked in the head by Wild forward Charlie Coyle.

The hit came at about 5:10 of the second period, and resulted in Coyle receiving a five-minute major penalty for elbowing.

Unfortunately for Calgary, they were unable to capitalize on the man-advantage, as the Wild held them shotless.

Some believed Stajan exaggerated the hit, while others felt Coyle deserves a suspension.

Regardless, Stajan would return for the third period. It was to no avail, as Calgary went on to lose the game 2-1 in overtime.
