Flames' Jackman jack'd about contribution
By SCOTT FISHER, QMI Agency

Tim Jackman: Secret Shootout Weapon?

Probably not.

But the Flames tough-guy did score the prettiest goal of Monday’s post-practice shootout.

“If I get picked to shoot, that means it’s been a long shootout,” Jackman admitted. “But if I get the opportunity, I’d welcome it.”

Based on past returns, the Flames could do worse than give the big guy a shot — especially after Monday’s forehand deke, top-shelf beauty in regulation.

Plus, he’s hot. Jackman ended a 52-game scoring drought Sunday with an early goal against the Phoenix Coyotes in the 5-4 comeback victory at the Saddledome.

He remembers the last one, way back on Dec. 29, 2011.

“It’s been awhile,” Jackman said. “It was last year on the road against the Islanders. I work on my hands and being around the net. It’s nice to get rewarded, but it’s better to help out the team and contribute.”

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
