Flames' Blake Comeau movin' on up

Sometimes it’s the perfect kind of prank.
A player who’s usually skating on the fourth line has his practice sweater switched by a nefarious teammate. Even in a truncated NHL season, regular levity is needed. Blake Comeau wasn’t thinking that was the case when the signs pointed to him skating on a line with Jarome Iginla and Curtis Glencross during Saturday’s Calgary Flames practice. “I don’t think I’m that bad of a player where it’s outrageous I’m playing centre with Jarome and Glennie, so I didn’t think it was a joke at all,” Comeau said of his reaction when he entered the dressing room. “I thought it was something for me to look at as a challenge, and I’m going to do my best to strive at it and show I can play.” As the middling Flames readied to head to Dallas to kick off a quick two-game road trip Sunday against the Stars (4 p.m., Sportsnet West, Sportsnet FAN960), coach Bob Hartley mixed up a couple of lines. |
