Cammalleri ready to return for Flames
By RANDY SPORTAK, QMI Agency

Mike Cammalleri and the Calgary Flames are getting gritty these days, just like in Thursday night's win in L.A. Photo by Lucy Nicholson/Reuters.

It could have easily been lost in the goalie shuffle and other injury woes, but the Calgary Flames received good news Tuesday.

Forward Michael Cammalleri said after practice he’s healthy enough to return to action after missing the last three games with a hip flexor injury.

“I started feeling really good right before I went out,” Cammalleri said. “I thought my last two games before I got hurt there were probably my best two. Hopefully, I can pick up where I left off.”

Cammalleri struggled in the early-going and now has no goals and five assists in seven games. Three of those helpers came in his most recent game, the 4-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings.

He plans to play Wednesday’s game against the Dallas Stars.

That was only one reason Cammalleri had a big grin at the Saddledome. At the end of practice, he spotted a special visitor in the stands, his daughter.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
