VANCOUVER - Calgary Flames call-up and B.C. boy Ben Street will make his big-league debut in his own backyard, and on Hockey Night In Canada, no less.

Couldn’t have scripted it any better, right?

Whoa ... let’s not get carried away.

"You kind of imagine it to be a little bit Hollywood, and it’s just a phone call," Street said of his long-awaited summons to the NHL, just in time for Saturday’s clash with the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena.

Mikael Backlund, who was just beginning to emerge as a bonafide top-six forward for the crew from Calgary, suffered a sprained knee in Thursday’s 4-3 overtime victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets and will be out at least a month.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
