NHL Playoffs: BOS @ NYR

Kiprusoff solid ... then what for Flames in goal?

One thing that is relatively certain about the Calgary Flames goaltending situation is that Miikka Kiprusoff will likely be asked to play all but maybe four or five of the 48 games.

Beyond that there are major question marks, which were brought to light by the trading Monday of Henrik Karlsson to the Chicago Blackhawks for a seventh-round pick.

We’ll attempt to answer the most obvious queries here:

Who is third on the Flames depth chart if Kiprusoff or Leland Irving are injured or sick?

The Flames currently don’t have another goalie under contract and are scouring the league in search of one. Ottawa Senators backup Ben Bishop seems a possible target given how high the organization is on Robin Lehner, who they sent down Tuesday to the AHL. A much simpler solution lies with the AHL’s Abbotsford Heat, with whom both Barry Brust and Danny Taylor are playing lights out and can be signed at any time.

Would Patrick Roy make a good coach for the Colorado Avalanche?
  Yes, he's perfect
  No, he's not ready
  Bring him to Montreal!
