Ducks drop inconsistent Flames

CALGARY - Oh yeah, the Calgary Flames are consistent.

Consistent at being inconsistent.

We’re not talking game to game here.

It’s period to period, and the end result was Monday night’s 5-4 loss the Anaheim Ducks.

Two games — two losses — and the Flames have posted one dubious trend: good period, bad period, good period, bad period, good period, bad period.

Unfortunately for them, the third period against the Ducks was from the smelly department.

After coming back from a three-goal deficit to make it a tie going into the final frame, the Flames saw it all go for naught seeming in the blink of an eye.

Daniel Winnik netted his second goal of the game — and fourth of the young season if you can believe it — to break open the deadlock early in the third period.

No problem, right?

Wrong.

Are you bummed Canada lost to Sweden in the quarterfinals at the world hockey championship?
