CALGARY - Matt Stajan can finally move on.

After four months in the middle of the collective bargaining agreement battle as the Calgary Flames players’ association representative, Stajan happily was back being just a player when he took the ice Wednesday at the WinSport Ice Complex.

“It’s not something I wished to have gone through, but I learned a lot,” Stajan said. “And I was happy to represent our team that way.”

He was happier to awake Sunday morning to the news a deal was finally reached.

“I was probably sleeping for about four or five hours already, but I woke up to seven or eight text messages. I think the media broke the news before people could text out or send an e-mail to the membership,” he said of how he found out.
