CALGARY - So, now we know the dangers of a father with too much time on his hands.
Days before the Mac’s AAA Midget Hockey Tournament, Calgary Royals forward Matthew Gelinas was with his father at the Saddledome ... looking over video.
Yep, his dad is former Calgary Flames hero and current assistant coach Martin Gelinas, who has been trying to keep busy during the NHL lockout.
“Just getting prepared for the tournament, I guess,” Matthew Gelinas said with a chuckle. “It’s good. He teaches me a lot.”
The lockout may be causing people in the hockey world to go a little stir crazy, but the younger Gelinas is receiving a welcome benefit.
