Heritage Classic jackpot unclaimed
By DAVE DORMER, QMI Agency

CALGARY - Better take another close look at that 50/50 ticket from the Heritage Classic.

The $76,000 jackpot remains unclaimed, said Natasha Guillot, executive director of the Calgary Flames Foundation, and the holder of ticket 45865 has 30 days to come forward and pick up their prize.

"Thankfully on the back of every single ticket it says you have 30 days to claim the ticket and a website where you can go verify the number," she said.

"You certainly did not have to be there to win it."

The fact 41,000 people were at the Heritage Classic pushed the purse skyward, said Guillot.

"It's huge," she said.

"It's huge for the Flames Foundation and it's going to be huge for whoever wins it."

If nobody comes forward by March 22, the money will be rolled into another 50/50 draw, said Guillot, likely the March 30 tilt against the Anaheim Ducks.

A 50/50 jackpot goes unclaimed "once or twice a year," said Guillot.

"We've been pretty fortunate," she said. "It doesn't happen too, too often, most people who go to the games are familiar with the 50/50, they're regular buyers and they're of the fact they can go online and check."
