T.J. BRODIE

Position:Defence Size:6-foot-1, 173 lb. 2009-10 team: OHL Saginaw/Barrie

Why you should watch: Because he is looking like a steal of a fourth-round pick from the 2008 draft. He's got speed and skill on the back-end and makes the jump to pro this fall. The 20-year-old should shine.

BRYAN CAMERON

Position:Centre/wing Size:5-foot-10, 175 lb. 2009-10 team: OHL Barrie Colts

Why you should watch: The 21-year-old played five seasons in the OHL and scored no fewer than 20 goals in any of them. He potted an astounding 53 goals to lead the CHL last year -- yup, more than Taylor Hall or Tyler Seguin.

JOHN ARMSTRONG

Position:Centre Size:6-foot-2, 188 lb. 2009-10 team: AHL Abbotsford Heat

Why you should watch: Every camp he's in, he seems like a serious contender to stick with the Flames. But injuries have been unkind to the 22-year-old. Seasonending shoulder surgery stopped his progress 14 games into last year.

LELAND IRVING

Position:Goaltender Size:6-foot, 177 lb. 2009-10 team:AHL Abbotsford Heat/ECHL Victoria Salmon Kings Why you should watch: Someone has to step up into the role of Flames' goalie of the future, and the club would like it to be the 22-year-old. His technique and reflexes are solid. He just needs to find consistency.

TIM ERIXON

Position:Defence Size:6-foot-2, 190 lb. 2009-10 team: SEL Skelleftea HC

Why you should watch: The 19-year-old will be heading back to Sweden after camp, so time to view his skills in person will be short. He's shown glimpses of being offensively gifted but also remains positionally sound.
