Kisio content to stay put

The Flames finally hired an assistant GM.

It just wasn't the guy everyone was expecting.

The Flames brought in Jay Feaster, who built the Tampa Bay Lightning's 2004 Stanley Cup championship squad, to be GM Darryl Sutter's right-hand man.

Most expected that post to be handed to Hitmen GM Kelly Kisio.

"Well, the media had one guy in mind," Kisio said with a chuckle. "But Jay was a part of Tampa when they won it. He's a very knowledgeable guy and he'll be great for that spot."

Kisio, who never campaigned publicly for the job, said he's content to keep doing what he's doing.

"I'm happy going to work every day with the people we have here with the Calgary Hitmen," he said.

The Hitmen have never missed the playoffs under Kisio's watch and are coming off their second trip to the Memorial Cup.
