COMING IN

Despite piling up 46 shots on goal through overtime, the Flames went to a shootout Monday at home to Colorado and lost 3-2. The Flames are atop the Northwest Division thanks to a solid 6-3-1 record through a pair of sets of five-games-in-seven-nights.

The defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins dropped a 4-3 game to the Minnesota Wild Monday and continue to struggle. The Pens have a 3-7-0 record in their last 10 games.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Calgary holds an all-time record of 38-36-18-1 against the Penguins, but has lost two straight meetings. Pittsburgh won a 2-0 game last March in the Steel City, and the Penguins claimed a 3-2 shootout win in Calgary Dec. 6, 2007.

SPECIAL TEAMS

POWERPLAY -- Calgary 16.5% (26-158, 25th); Pittsburgh 14.3% (28-196, 29th).

PENALTY KILLING -- Calgary 84.2% (8th); Pittsburgh 83.4% (9th).

QUOTE TO NOTE

"We're looking forward to the game and I think fans are. Around town, you can hear people talk about it. They're the defending Stanley Cup champions. It's nice to play them and you want to knock them off."

-- Jarome Iginla

INJURIES

FLAMES -- C Craig Conroy (foot/ankle) is ready to return.

PENGUINS -- G Brent Johnson (undisclosed), D Brooks Orpik (undis-closed) are day-to-day. LW Chris Kunitz (abdomen) is out.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON THESE TWO PLAYERS IN TONIGHT'S GAME

PENS' EVGENI MALKIN, CENTRE

Sidney Crosby isn't the only star forward to keep close tabs on. Malkin was second in league scoring two seasons ago and won the Art Ross Trophy last season. He's in a goal-scoring slump now -- shut out in nine tilts -- but can change a game in an instant.

FLAMES' ROBYN REGEHR, DEFENCE

All the Flames blueliners will be under the gun to keep Sidney Crosby and the talented Pens in check, but we'll single out Regehr. He and Dion Phaneuf are mainly put up against the top opposing lines, so you know he'll be skating against Crosby or Evgeni Malkin.
