WHY FLAMES WON
They played a physical game early, and found a way to come through late again thanks to some great goaltending from Miikka Kiprusoff.
WHAT IT MEANS
A second straight extra-time win on the road and a respectable 9-4-1 record.
SAVE OF THE GAME
Take your pick of the three spectacular stops Miikka Kiprusoff made on T.J. Oshie, who was playing his first game after an appendectomy. Our favourite was the one he made late in the second when Oshie bulled his way in tight. Kiprusoff stayed with him the whole way.
GOAL OF THE GAME
What could have been the save of the night became the opening goal. Jarome Iginla snapped a hard shot that squeezed through Blues G Chris Mason's pads. He swiped it away as it was set to cross the goal-line, but D Eric Brewer's attempt to swat it actually put it into the net to give the Flames a 1-0 lead. Oops.
