Cory Sarich was a force on the penalty kill, battling like mad to clear the zone on one amazing individual effort early on.
WHY FLAMES WON
Credit backup goaltender Curtis McElhinney for this one. Jarome Iginla had a pair of timely goals, but it was a one-man show for most of the night until the Flames scored in the final minute of regulation and early in OT on the powerplay.
SAVE OF THE GAME
Curtis McElhinney's first penalty shot was memorable. After facing almost 30 shots in a little more than half a game, the Flames netminder went one-on-one with Brenden Morrow -- who was hauled down by Adam Pardy -- and won the showdown with a blocker stop.
