Olli Jokinen is coming to the Calgary Flames.
The blockbuster addition has been rumoured for years, becoming an annual bug in everyone's ears.
Going to Phoenix in return are centre Matthew Lombardi, winger Brandon Prust and the Flames' first-round draft pick.
The 29-year-old Finn has a cap hit of $5.25 million till the end of the 2009-10 season, and another move could be coming from Flames GM Darryl Sutter to clear some more salary, although injuries may provide them enough relief under the ceiling.
In an earlier trade, Jordan Leopold is returning to Calgary.
The pending unrestricted free agent defenceman was dealt from the Colorado Avalanche Wednesday afternoon, reportedly for blueliner Lawrence Nycholat, prospect Ryan Wilson and a draft pick.
Nycholat was picked up on waivers Tuesday.
Leopold was partnered with Robyn Regehr on the Flames blueline before being dealt to Denver in the Alex Tanguay trade.
