Calgary Flames co-owner Daryl (Doc) Seaman will be remembered at a funeral service Friday.
Seaman, who brought the team from Atlanta in 1980, died Sunday at the age of 86.
The Saskatchewan native was a quiet philanthropic giant in Calgary after considerable success with Bow Valley Industries.
He's also been praised for maintaining part ownership of the Flames during the team's lean times.
His funeral will begin at 2:30 p.m. at First Alliance Church, 12345 40 St. S.E.
In lieu of flowers, mourners are being asked to donate to the Seaman Family Septic Shock Research Fund through the Calgary Foundation, Suite 700 999 8 St. S.W. Calgary, Alta. T2R 1J5 or at www.thecalgaryfoundation.org
