UNSUNG HERO

Alex Tanguay not only snapped his eight-game goal drought, he blocked three shots on the penalty kill.

---

WHY THE FLAMES WON

They produced just enough offence and took advantage of average goaltending, while their backstop Miikka Kiprusoff had a huge second period to crush the Blue Jackets' hopes.

---

HIT OF THE GAME

Jody Shelley lined up Dion Phaneuf, but the Blue Jackets scrapper seemed to get the worst of it as he fell to the ice while Phaneuf skated away.

---

SAVE OF THE GAME

Miikka Kiprusoff stoned Jiri Novotny, who stormed in alone straight out of the penalty box, and Jarome Iginla rewarded the save with a goal at the other end a few seconds later.

---

FIGHT CARD

Jarome Iginla exchanged blows with Jared Boll in the first period. When that short bout was over, Eric Nystrom and Ole-Kristian Tollefsen provided a doubleheader.
