Calgary ended its seven-game homestand with a 4-1 loss to the NHL leading Detroit Red Wings Thursday. The Flames put up a 4-2-1 record in their stay at the Saddledome.

Remember when the Wild arrived in the Stampede City unbeaten in regulation at 7-0-1? Calgary's win that night started Minny on a five-game losing skid, one coming in a shootout, with the latest a 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues Thursday

HEAD-TO-HEAD

In the first meeting of the year, Calgary erased a three-goal deficit to beat the Wild 5-3. After struggling against the Wild in that franchise's early days, Calgary has taken over the all-time series with a 20-8-4-4 record.

WHO'S HOT

FLAMES -- LW Alex Tanguay has four goals and four assists in the last four games.

WILD -- C Pavol Demitra missed four games due to injury, but has bookended that time with three goals and three assists in four games.

WHO'S NOT

FLAMES -- A couple of vets are really struggling offensively. RW Owen Nolan is yet to score and has just two assists this year, while C Craig Conroy has no points in the last six games.

WILD -- G Josh Harding was given the ball when No.-1 Niklas Backstrom went down, but lost all four games he's started and surrendered 14 goals.

POWERPLAY -- Calgary 16.7% (11-66, T-17th); Minnesota 13% (7-54, 26th).

PENALTY KILLING -- Calgary 74% (27th); Minnesota 85.2% (10th).

INJURIES

WILD -- D Kim Johnsson (leg) and C Dominic Moore (abdominal) practiced yesterday, so they are available. D Sean Hill is in the home stretch of his suspension from last season.

NOTABLES

Flames D Dion Phaneuf had his first minus game of the season against Detroit.
