COMING IN

The Flyers went 3-5 in the pre-season, scoring 20 goals in the process, after multiple additions during the summer buoyed hopes of a return to the playoffs following the league's worst showing a year ago.

The Flames earned just one victory -- and it took a shootout to do it -- under new coach Mike Keenan in the exhibition schedule and are looking to show the Saddledome crowd the process will pan out in the long run.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Their last meeting was Dec. 6, 2005, and featured shutout performances from both Flyers G Antero Nittymaki and Flames G Miikka Kiprusoff. The Flyers came away with a 1-0 shootout victory at home on Mike Richards' winning goal. Calgary is 25-27-4-1 all-time against Philly.
