- Oct. 4 vs. Philadelphia Flyers: Philly can't be as bad as last year, not with all the new faces -- Daniel Briere, Kimmo Timonen, Scott Hartnell -- and it's the season opener. You can't miss this one.

- Oct. 10 at Detroit Red Wings: Last year's playoff run was stopped dead in its tracks with a six-game shellacking at the hands of the Red Wings. Those game in Joe Louis Arena were especially one-sided, and it's a chance to put some of those road memories away for good.

- Oct. 20 vs. Edmonton Oilers: Sure, the Oil might struggle and miss the playoffs for the second year in a row, but it's the Battle of Alberta's first installment.

- Nov. 29 vs. Anaheim Ducks: The quack attack stormed out of the gate last season, but will be hard pressed to do it again without Teemu Selanne and Scott Niedermayer. Still, always worth catching the defending Stanley Cup champs.

- Dec. 6 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins: By this time, Sidney Crosby will likely have racked up 260 points in his NHL career, but thanks to that stupid unbalanced schedule. It'll be the first time Flames fans see him live in the 'Dome. Hopefully, the wait is worth it.

- Dec. 31 vs Vancouver Canucks: Will the New Year's Eve clash against the reigning Northwest Division champs give reason to celebrate early? Calgary and Vancouver have started to create a great rivalry.

- Jan. 2 vs New York Rangers: Jaromir Jagr is getting older but showed last year he still has plenty of game. Who knows, it may be the last time Jagr visits the Saddledome.

- March 12 at Washington Capitals: Alexander Ovechkin doesn't likely have a good enough team around him to make him a Stanley Cup playoff hero, but he's certainly worth tuning in when you can.

- March 29 vs Edmonton Oilers: As odd as it sounds, it's the last regular-season home game for the Flames, who finish with four road clashes. Could be the last time to stoke the Battle of Alberta fires.

- April 5 at Vancouver Canucks: The regular-season finale is the third meeting between the clubs in 11 days. Will first place in the division be on the line? Will there be scores to settle in this tilt?
