SUN THREE-STARS

1. Dwayne Roloson, Oilers -- All those big saves in the first couple of periods paid off.

2. Stephane Yelle, Flames -- Was key to both of Calgary's first two goals.

3. Ales Hemsky, Oilers -- His team's best player from start to finish.

UNSUNG HERO

Brad Stuart was Calgary's best defenceman, especially notable as he was without regular partner Robyn Regehr.

WHY FLAMES LOST

Because they let off the gas after pulling ahead by a pair and receiving news Colorado lost, which clinched a playoff berth, against an Oilers team that wanted to end its season on a high.

SAVE OF THE GAME

Early in the third period and with the score tied, Calgary's Miikka Kiprusoff first stopped a long redirected point shot and then scrambled back in place to stone Raffi Torres on the rebound.

HIT OF THE GAME

Edmonton's Brad Winchester went deep in Calgary territory and plastered Flames d-man Mark Giordano with a hard hit behind the net.

SCRATCHES

CALGARY -- D Robyn Regehr (knee), LW Jeff Friesen (torso), RW Darren McCarty (hip), D Richie Regehr (concussion), D Andrei Zyuzin, RW Eric Godard.

OILERS -- C Rob Schremp.
